Randy's Magical Music Year

Picture

When Randy thinks about doing something... He thinks about it a lot. And that's exactly how he and Jen ended up attending the Bonnaroo Music Festival in the summer. It was a non-stop intense musical adventure that included many of their favorite performers including Bruce Springsteen, Wilco, Todd Snider and Robert Earl Keen. The list could go on forever (but the party never ends). What's amazing is many of their other favorite musicians decided to perform in Columbia, MO this year. There's been a lot of enjoyable music adventures.

A big goal for us this year was to save up and build a new deck in our back yard. Randy and his dad built it over a weekend and we love it! It's completely changed the way we use the backyard. We're playing and relaxing out there more often.

Randy and the rest of the family had some great trips this summer. They all had a chance to spend the Fourth of July in Chicago so Jordan could get a check up with her prosthetist. During the trip, the family got to enjoy fireworks along Lake Michigan, the Field Museum,

Shedd Aquarium and a brief and terribly crowded tour of the Taste of Chicago. Randy also planned a fantastic tour through the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The camping trip included a number of new hikes the family hadn't experienced before. He found beautiful spots on the tops of mountains and along waterfalls. He and the rest of the family also enjoyed new adventures along the Maine Coast.

Randy continues to work on the board of the local Little League where he managed Cameron's coach-pitch division. That's why Cam has been able to play for the Cardinals every year since his dad has a bit of pull

in the league. As a birthday gift, Randy got season tickets to Mizzou football for the family. That kept many of our weekends busy with cheering (and groaning) and socializing.

Randy's excellent eye for awesome adventures turned up our next big trip. He discovered a music cruise that includes many musicians he and Jen love. It's called Cayamo and they were lucky get the chance (thanks to the kindness of the Reeves family) to go on the trip with Randy's brother. They're really excited and pretty sure the month and a half after the holidays will be tough while counting down to this amazing experience.
